Keep America Beautiful, Inc., the nation's largest community improvement organization, has engaged individuals to take greater responsibility for improving their community environments for more than 50 years. Their signature program, the Great American Cleanup™, is the nation’s largest annual grassroots community improvement effort. From March 1st to May 31st, more than three million volunteers in 17,000 communities actively participate in 30,000 events dedicated to cleaning up, greening up and beautifying community environments across the nation—from recycling, graffiti removal and tree planting to playground creation and building restoration. People of every age and from every walk of life—community leaders, teachers, students, organized community groups, civil servants and local businesses—get involved to protect our environment for generations to come.
