Balancing what consumers want
and what the planet needs .
. .
Honda has earned a reputation as a company committed to
a clean and healthy environment. For more than two decades, we have launched
industry-leading vehicles that produce fewer emissions and use less gasoline,
like the Civic Hybrid, the soon-to-be-introduced FCX Clarity fuel cell vehicle and the 2008 Civic GX natural gas vehicle, winner of ACEEE’s “America’s Greenest Car” award. While we acknowledge that
automotive technologies change over time, our commitment to a cleaner and better
tomorrow never will.
The
challenging spirit that guides our leadership in technology also drives our efforts
to find the most environmentally suitable ways to manufacture our products. Because
the purest expression of our own commitment is how we operate our daily business,
Honda’s U.S. auto plants meet the toughest international standards for waste
management, water treatment and energy use. Through our Green Factory program,
every Honda facility is working to reduce emissions, reuse raw materials and
recycle paper and plastic.
Honda is continuing its industry-leading efforts to address the environmental challenges of global warming, emissions reduction and energy sustainability through a comprehensive approach that involves further improvements to gasoline engine fuel efficiency, the development of real-world alternatives to gasoline including natural gas and the hydrogen-powered fuel cell car, and technology for refueling those vehicles.
